Come Browse My TBR Shelves-- Bookcase #3

Welcome! I'm happy to see that you're back to take another look at my To-Be-Read (TBR) shelves. I have to admit that I did a little bit of tidying up before I took the photos of the individual shelves. I just had to take care of the occasional misshelved book or a book lying on top of the others. It's the librarian in me!

If this is your first visit, you also might want to take a look at Bookcase #1 and Bookcase #2.

You might wonder how I acquire my books. A lot of them are from Paperback Swap, which can be one way for you to lessen the load on your own shelves and another way to add even more. I've also been known to haunt Book Outlet as well as Book Depository. I only buy eBooks from Amazon, since I own a Kindle, and that leaves The Poisoned Pen (the best for last) for most of my physical books.

But that's enough yakking. Let's get to those shelves!

Shelf #1-- from Cynthia Harrod-Eagles to Kaye Hill

Shelf #2-- from Reginald Hill to Sarah Jio

Shelf #3-- from Matti Joensuu to Jane Kirkpatrick

Shelf #4-- from Henry Kisor to Peter Lovesey

Remember, if you can't decipher one of the titles, just ask. That's why I've numbered the shelves.

What do you think? See any old favorites? See any that you've always meant to read? Inquiring minds would love to know!

  1. What I love about all your shelves, Cathy, is the different sorts of books you have - lots of variety. And it is really fun to get to know other people through their shelves...

  2. I see Learning to Swim by Sara Henry. I remember liking that one. I've read the first one or two or Camilla Lackberg's series and liked them. Need to continue. You have a bunch of Laurie King books. I'm enjoying this, Cathy!

  3. I've read several by Laurie King, Kate Martinelli (loved) and some Mary Russell books. Read a Peter Lovesey, can't remember title. And you have Donna Leon's first book. I've read and loved them all. If I were on a desert island, I'd want Donna Leon's and Sara Paretsky's full series to reread. It's astounding how many books you have on those shelves. You could shelter in place for a few years and have plenty to read and review.

  5. Yes, my bookshelves make me happy, too. But in my bedroom I have beloved books I've read or belonged to a loved one. I have some photos and pottery around. So it is my little sanctuary and I'm almost immovable from here where my TV, laptop and phone are located.

  6. Why are there more spaces in these shelves? Have you removed books and read them? Or it it a function of the alphabet and people's last names? Or do you leave room for additional books by a specific author? How often do you reorganize these bookcases? Is it because of the pandemic? We've been under a stay-at-home directive for quite awhile in Louisiana. We are very slowly reopening--our governor John Bel Edwards is great, smart and responsive, a good communicator, believes in science.
