A Planning Ahead Weekly Link Round-Up

This Christmas has barely passed, and I'm already making plans for the next one. Since I know that my Christmas Forest is a thing of not-to-be-repeated legend, I've been looking for other ways to spread holiday cheer in my home. I do admit that I like to see it, especially when I saw how much difference a few throw pillows made this year. I also liked how I used some decorations for the first time that I've literally had for well over a decade. Crafters around the world know that it makes perfect sense to buy items that catch the eye because they will be used...one of these days!

So... when I got a deal on a set of these four extra-large Santa mugs, I bought them. There are all sorts of ways I can use them-- tree-shaped cones that can fit inside and then be decorated, etc.-- and then all I have to do is put them in clear plastic bags and store them away. When I'm ready to decorate, just take them off that shelf, take them out of the bags, and they're ready to go.

I've also got an idea for how to showcase some of my special ornaments, which is very necessary since I no longer decorate thirteen trees. (Hey--thirteen is my lucky number!)

But enough talk about Christmas decorations. I'd better head straight on out to the corral because some of those links are sounding rather miffed. (Or maybe they're still a mite hungover from New Year's Eve? They did get pretty rowdy....) Head 'em up! Moooooooooooove 'em out!

  1. Found I've read several of the 25 best cozy series (though I'm not sure I'd agree that Louise Penny's books are cozies) and I've read most of the 'best thrillers'. I feel accomplished. LOL

    1. I was pinning Barbara Peters' "The Criminal Calendar" series and listened to her interview with Louise Penny. They talked about her books being labeled cozies, and the British/American distinction between "cozy" and "traditional." They both agreed that the Gamache books are traditional mysteries.
