Art Break
I'm still trying to be good and keep my leg elevated as much as possible, so I thought this called for an art break. Deborah DeWit is probably my favorite artist for book-themed work. This one is called "Stories," and I love it because it reminds me of me. If I'm outside or anywhere close to a window while I'm reading, I am paying attention to the story on the page, but I'm also aware of other stories that may be taking place around me.

That is beautiful, Cathy. And that's just the way I like to read, too - in a big comfy chair where I can also see out a window. Love it!
ReplyDeleteIf I had the money to splash out on art, I'd be buying several DeWit works.
DeleteLovely painting. I read in my room where the windows face the brick wall of another building with a small courtyard in-between. It's OK. I used to have a huge area of sky and sun to see out of my living room window, but now there is a 7-story penthouse covering my sky view.
ReplyDeleteI used to watch certain TV series on HGTV about people wanting to buy houses, and whenever the couple fell in love with a house that had a to-die-for view, I'd always comment, "Make sure that land in front of the house can't be sold and have high rises built on it!"
DeleteYes. Now instead of my sky/sun view, I see a 7-story building which was built over 3 years for one millionaire! It has a penthouse and huge garage. It also blocked any view at all from the windows on the sides of the two apartment buildings next to it. They just look straight into bricks.
