While Miz Kittling Knits: a Slight Pause

This was supposed to be a full-blown post about what I've been knitting and what I was watching on television while I was knitting, but I'm going to have to take a raincheck on that.

My cellulitis is back. I found that out at 7 PM on Christmas Day. The next day I was at the emergency room getting pumped with antibiotics, praised for coming in right away, and being started out on a new method of treatment.  In the meantime, it's back to making sure that I'm keeping this leg propped up. I tried to find a graphic that showed a woman knitting in front of a television with one leg up in the air, but no go. Oh well.

But guess what? I found out that one of my favorite yarn companies had a 45% off sale. So far I've received two out of three shipments. Here's what I've got waiting for me--

The third box will be monochromatic. I decided to make myself an afghan, so the third shipment contains the yarn for that.

However, I'm going to need restraints: that sale is still on. HELP!

  1. Oh, no! I hope you feel better soon, Cathy! And how wise you were to get yourself seen right away. Rest up, and I hope this bout is short-lived. Oh, and that yarn is beautiful.

    1. Knock wood, this second round has been short-lived. I'm just paranoid about letting this leg be anything but horizontal at the moment!

  2. Beautiful yarn! And I think it would be OK to take advantage of the sale - right? You're being compliant with your leg in the air. Seriously, I'm so glad that you went to the ER and got the antibiotics, etc. Hope this bout is short and soon you'll be knitting away while watching all your favorites. Happy New Year to you!

  3. What beautiful yarn! I hope you'll post photos of what your final products look like.
Good that you went to the ER right away. I have a neighbor who got cellulitis twice and was on major antibiotics and got over it. But it is not fun at all.
At least you've got some distractions that you enjoy. And I bet some good TV mysteries will be watched.

    1. Actually, I've watched a couple that weren't all that good. I'll be talking about them in future along with showing off a bit of knitting.

  4. At least you have beautiful yarn to keep knitting--not that it is adequate compensation for more problems with the leg! Hope you will have to spend less time with your leg elevated, Cathy. Happy New Year!

    1. And thank you for reminding me that I've been sitting here too long. Think I'll lie across the bed in the sun and read for a bit!
