"The Summer Chapter" by Deborah DeWitt |
Since I'm having a problem with one of my legs and I am supposed to keep it elevated, I thought it was time for an art buffer. Now if I could figure out a way to sit here at my desktop computer with the affected leg straight up in the air, I'd do it. But even the thought sounds rather painful.
Here's some art from one of my favorite painters, Deborah Dewitt, who likes to feature books in her work. Although I'd differ from the woman in the painting in that I'd have a blanket, a camera, a basket for shells, and something to drink in addition to sunglasses and a book, I still think this portrays an idyllic place to read. I'd be able to lose myself in the story, yet the lure of the sea would pull me away for some observation and exercise. A perfect balance.
Enjoy your Wednesday!
I sure hope your leg feels better soon, Cathy! Rest up! And thanks for the lovely art buffer.
ReplyDeleteIt should certainly start feeling better now. I was hospitalized for four days and pumped full of antibiotics. Just got home yesterday afternoon.
DeleteI'd need an umbrella to spread that blanket under, too! I think all of the additional items are there, just behind the book, closer to the viewer. Thanks for the visual interlude, and I hope your leg improved quickly!
ReplyDeleteThat's what I'm thinking, too-- that all the other necessities are just out of our view.
DeleteHope your legs improves quickly so you can go on about your life as you usually do.
ReplyDeleteIt would be nice. I think I'm going to be missing a Poisoned Pen event that I've been looking forward to. :-(
DeleteNow that is a disappointment. Can you watch it from their website?
ReplyDeleteYes, they did live video. Now it looks as though I'm going to miss another one. I am not a happy bunny.
