Although I keep a running list of my favorite reads each year (you can read them all
here), I decided to share ten of my fifteen "best reads" on
Top Ten Tuesday at
That Artsy Reader Girl. The only problem was in winnowing my list down to ten!
Let's see which ones made the painful cut. You'll notice that, although my blog tends to focus on crime fiction, half of my choices are not from that genre. The books are listed in the order in which they were read, and I've provided a link to my review of each below the book's cover.
Fantastic choices, Cathy! I've already made up my mind that I really need to read that Cash Blackbear series. And I'm not surprised to see the Elly Griffiths here. What a talent! Well, heck, they all look excellent. Now if I could just shoehorn them into the TBR...

DeleteNice list, Cathy! I have not read a single one of them, but I do have a couple on my Kindle. Looking forward especially to BLEEDING HEART YARD. I've got to get THE POSTSCRIPT MURDERS read first. Think it's an April selection for our mystery group here in Kerrville. I'm trying to read and participate with that group and also stay connected to and read the books my lovely mystery group in Austin is reading. And then I'm participating in the Historical Fiction group here. Right now, reading THE ROSE CODE by Kate Quinn for that group. Meeting is Thursday and I don't think I'll finish, but I want to hear what others thought. I'm liking it so far.

DeleteI have Laurie King's book on my list of "want to reads". I have greatly enjoyed her Mary Russell series and look forward to getting acquainted with her new characters.

DeleteI read THE WOMAN THEY COULD NOT SILENCE for book club this year and, wow, what a great book. Interesting, eye-opening, thought-provoking, etc. We had a lively discussion about it, too.

DeleteWell, must have been painfull cuts. I have read three of these books, and two are on library reserve. Always a good list to consult.

DeleteIt's impossible to wade through "Best of 2022 mysteries" and figure out what to read. I must have seen hundreds of titles with no sense of what to read. Oline Cogdill and Sarah Weinman, columnists in NY Times Book Review, have some good suggestions. The Rap Sheet makes my head swim with a slew of lists. I like to know what a book is about before I choose it.

DeleteI've seen that Kate Moore book on a few "best" lists this week. I guess that's a sign I should read it.
