On My Radar: Jane Harper's Exiles!

Australian author Jane Harper quickly became one of my favorite storytellers. Her book The Lost Man was one of my Best Reads of 2019. It seems like it's been a long time since she's had a new book, so when her newest book appeared on my radar, I did a little jig around the house. (Hey-- that ain't easy on an electric scooter!)

Let me share the details.

Available 31 January 2023!

Synopsis:

"New York Times bestselling author Jane Harper is back with Exiles, a new mystery featuring Aaron Falk, the detective from the bestseller and major motion picture The Dry.

At a busy festival site on a warm spring night, a baby lies alone in her stroller, her mother vanishing into the crowds.

A year on, Kim Gillespie’s absence casts a long shadow as her friends and loved ones gather deep in the heart of South Australian wine country to welcome a new addition to the family.

Joining the celebrations is federal investigator Aaron Falk. But as he soaks up life in the lush valley, he begins to suspect this tight-knit group may be more fractured than it seems. Between Falk’s closest friend, a missing mother, and a woman he’s drawn to, dark questions linger as long-ago truths begin to emerge
.

Exiles sounds like another winner from Harper, doesn't it? I can't wait to read it! How about you? Are any of you fellow Harper fans?

  1. Yes, I'm a Harper fan, except for the last book. The Lost Man was excellent as was The Dry. This one looks good. By the way, turned on a friend to Suburban Dicks. She told me on the phone she loves it. I can't wait until I get The Self-Made Widow. Pull down the shades, turn off the computer and the phone, get chocolate, iced tea and read. A readacation.

  3. This does look fantastic, Cathy! I really like the way Harper depicts setting and atmosphere, and in this case, it's especially appealing. I've been to South Australia's wine country, so this one resonates! I like the way Harper develops her characters, too.
