Come Browse My TBR Shelves! --Bookcase #1

No, you didn't read that header wrong, I do have more than one bookcase of To-Be-Read (TBR) books. As you can see in the photo above, I actually have FIVE bookcases filled with books that I want to read. So... if I were to go on total lockdown, I may starve, but I would not have to worry about reading material.

I figured I wasn't the only book lover jonesing for a browse amongst the stacks, so I thought I would try to ease some of those literary pangs by showing you my own TBR shelves, one bookcase at a time. You could possibly find new-to-you books and authors, smile because we share some reading DNA, or frown because you don't see some of your personal favorites on my shelves.

One thing I learned in attempting this series of posts was how reflective book covers are. You would've laughed at me trying to find just the right angle as I went up and down the line! There is one photo per shelf, and I've purposely left the file sizes large so that you can tap, click, and manipulate each one in order to see all the titles. Unfortunately, there are still some that may be difficult to read. If you want to know what a certain title is, just leave a comment saying something like "Cathy, what's the title of the fifth book from the left on shelf #2?" I'll let you know in a reply. Or you can even tell me to hurry up and read a certain book. Easy peasy!

Time to browse!

Shelf #1 from Aaronovitch to Baker...

Shelf #2 from Balch to Bowen...

Shelf #3 from Bowen to Chaney...

Shelf #4 from Chapin to Connelly...

What say you? Ready for bookcase #2 next week?

  1. Wow. I am impressed, all those shelves of TBR books. You could be in the midst of a blizzard (or a pandemic) and have enough books to read for months, maybe years. Just order in the food and water and you're all set (except for the medical appointments).
I've read 10 of these books, 5 by Camilleri and 3 by Michael Connelly.

    1. It's quite clear that I'm being silly when I order a "survival" box of books from The Poisoned Pen, isn't it?

  2. Thanks for sharing your shelves, Cathy. You have such a great variety of different kinds of books! Such reading richness that I think it'd be impossible to get bored with the books you have. I've spotted some Margaret Coel among your books, too - I like her series very much, and keep meaning to get back to it.

  3. How joyous to see such lovely bookshelves! And good clear photos too. (I know how hard it is with reflections sometimes.) I see you have a couple of Janie Bolitho's Cornish books, I really must try those someday. And I must get to Marjorie Allingham too.

    1. I keep telling myself I'm going to read Janie Bolitho's books, but I'm like a magpie-- I see something new and shiny, and I'm off to grab it and put it in my stash!

  4. No. It's not silly. You could be at home for months. You could feel like reading different books. You could go on a roll for books by specific authors or set in a certain location.
Also, during a pandemic, you have to order some "comfort reads." I had the feeling so I just ordered two books, Margot Kinberg's "A Matter of Murder," and Sara Paretsky's newest, "Deadland." I may order a lot more by the time this is order.
But what I had to do was restrain myself from also ordering a lot of choclate of whatever type. But I may cave tomorrow.
At least you have a lot of choices.

    1. At least I haven't run out of my reading "nibbles" (raw carrots, cauliflower, and broccoli).

    1. I'm trying to be good, and so far they're still tasty. I also switch over to a trail mix that contains cranberries, walnuts, pecans, almonds, and pumpkin seeds. All those particular seeds (along with those veggies) are supposed to help get my lymphatic system working properly.

  6. You have Quaker Silence on your shelf by Irene Allen. I read that many years ago and haven't seen a copy in forever. And I approve of the alphabetizing - LOL!

    1. What did you think of Quaker Silence, Kay? (I knew you'd feel better about these bookcases! LOL)

  7. I buy packages of nuts and nuts and raisins. I have to go out to buy these though, and since we're socially distancing, have to figure out how to do this, abiding by the rules.

    1. I'm fortunate in that mine can be delivered to my door. Truly, the only times I've been out of the house in over a month are the two appointments I've had at the hospital. I have to call and make another one in the morning.

  8. I may venture out and stock up. I like having nuts and raisins in my cupboard.

  9. I wish I still had some Michael Connelly Harry Bosch mysteries to look forward to reading. I love that series. Can you even relate to people who don't like to read? They are like aliens from another planet.
