The I Can See Clearly Weekly Link Round-Up

Casa Kittling was built in 1952, and with the exception of three, all the windows are original to the house. Having recently finalized a reverse mortgage (what a bloomin' headache!), Denis and I decided that there were two main things that we wanted to do. Replacing the rest of the windows was first on the list.

Can you imagine how much we will save in cooling costs alone with brand-new windows? Yowza! We've still got a person or two to give us estimates, and I know that installation is bound to be a nightmare (because doing anything to this old ranch house never goes smoothly), but I'm certainly looking forward to the finished product!

As I write this, the weather prognosticators are trying to tell me that it won't even reach 100°F. this weekend. Toward the end of June? In the Sonoran Desert? I'll believe that when I see it!

Time to mosey on out to the link corral. They got quiet all of a sudden, and now I'm suspicious... Head 'em up! Moooove 'em out!

  1. I hope your window installation will go well, Cathy. Anything to save some energy and make sure you're comfortable, too! I saw that Newgrange tomb link, and I will go there. But those Anne Frank letters...they come first.

    1. The new windows have a lot to do with energy efficiency, but they also have a lot to do with security. I locked my keys in the house once and got in through a window that was locked...without damaging the window in any way!

  2. Good luck with the windows, Cathy! Bet they will be much more energy efficient - most things are that we replace these days. And they won't even have a 'mother board' to short out. Ha!

Loved the article about Sara Paretsky. Loved it.
