Casa Kittling was built in 1952, and with the exception of three, all the windows are original to the house. Having recently finalized a reverse mortgage (what a bloomin' headache!), Denis and I decided that there were two main things that we wanted to do. Replacing the rest of the windows was first on the list.
As I write this, the weather prognosticators are trying to tell me that it won't even reach 100°F. this weekend. Toward the end of June? In the Sonoran Desert? I'll believe that when I see it!

I hope your window installation will go well, Cathy. Anything to save some energy and make sure you're comfortable, too! I saw that Newgrange tomb link, and I will go there. But those Anne Frank letters...they come first.
ReplyDeleteThe new windows have a lot to do with energy efficiency, but they also have a lot to do with security. I locked my keys in the house once and got in through a window that was locked...without damaging the window in any way!
DeleteGood luck with the windows, Cathy! Bet they will be much more energy efficient - most things are that we replace these days. And they won't even have a 'mother board' to short out. Ha!
