A Love Is in the Air Weekly Link Round-Up

One thing that I noticed when Denis and I went to the Water Ranch at the end of January is that love was in the air. Or sometimes on the rocks beneath our feet.

Some afternoon delight for two Variegated Meadowhawk dragonflies.

Amidst all the dozing mallards, fishing egrets, paddling pelicans, and swooping ospreys, there were dragonflies darting everywhere. Usually in pairs. Like the two in the photo above who enjoyed quite a bit of afternoon delight regardless of how many were around to watch. I know. Shame on Denis and me for photographing them. Let's give them some privacy. I'll head out to the link corral and leave them alone.  Shhhh...

Head 'em up! Mooooooooooove 'em out!

  2. I just read about mating rituals of dragonflies. The females need a Me Too Movement!

  3. That's a great 'photo, Cathy, as ever! Well, dragonflies deserve their private moments, too. Now, me, I'm off to that Egyptian burial site. Oh, wait, there's that tunnel, too!!! Which to pick?!

  4. Dragonflies and 'afternoon delight' - only you, Cathy! And may I say that I don't want to think about mice rocking...I'm not a rodent lover. Sorry. I did enjoy the article about the 12 books we should stop making high schoolers read. There were some good substitutes, though it's probably good for them to read some books that are timesome to get through. LOL

    1. Well... maybe hold off until they're confirmed readers. Don't want to scare them off too soon!

  5. Have had a great run on reading A+ books: The Exiled, by Kati Hiekkapelto; The Widows, by Jess Montgomery and Salt Lane, by William Shaw. Now I expect every book to measure up to these.
