The Success! Weekly Link Round-Up

Last week, I mentioned needing to learn how to hold a book, not move my head, and use the zoom function on my camera phone while sitting in the pool. Turns out, I didn't need to learn any contortionist's tricks or buy new gizmos for my phone. Fortune smiled upon me, yes it did!

The very next day after writing about my photographic woes, I went out to the pool, put up my umbrellas, skimmed leaves off the surface, lit my mosquito coil, and was just about to pick up my book when I heard the distinctive chirp of an Abert's Towhee coming from the oleanders just a few feet from the vacuum hose of the pool.

I grabbed my phone and held it in front of me as though it were my book, and I waited. Mere seconds later, the towhee flew out of the oleanders and lit on the hose for his drink. He didn't just drink; he also sat down and got his tail feathers good and wet, too. Humans aren't the only critters who like to cool off in the pool!

On that note of success, I'm going to mosey out to the link corral and take care of business. Head 'em up! Mooooooooove 'em out!

  1. And you got a great shot, too, Cathy! I'm so glad you worked out how to get this all to work. And oooh, there's a link about the Princes in the Tower! What an interesting story. I wonder if we'll ever be able to establish what actually, factually, happened.
