What Kind of Kid Were you?

You Were an Achieving Kid

When you were a kid, people often remarked on how mature you seemed. You acted quite adult. You excelled at school, and you actually enjoyed it to a large extent. No one had to ask you to do your homework.

As a kid, you were probably a bit picky. You liked structure, schedules, and organization. You had trouble being friends with regular kids. You probably were only friends with other serious children.

  1. I was an outgoing kid:

When you were a kid, you had no problem expressing yourself.
There's a good chance you started talking early - and never stopped!

You had a lot of friends, and unlike most kids, you weren't shy around adults.
You were well adjusted and confident. You enjoyed speaking up and participating.

    1. LOL!!!

I got my mouth taped shut in second grade for whispering. Each successive year, I got quieter. I loved learning with a passion, but my classmates and I weren't suited to each other.

  3. Join the crowd, Barbara. I too (according to this) was an outgoing kid. Actually I was a shy loner with a small group of friends.

    1. I was an outgoing chatterbox in first grade, but the more my differences were pointed out to me by fellow classmates, the quieter and more introverted I became. I normally never had more than one or two close friends. I loved learning, but I was absolutely thrilled to graduate. I don't even like to think of those years.

    2. You and me too, Cathy. I loved the early years of grade school, but don't like to remember school from them on, particularly high school until I went away to prep school. Those two years were heaven. I could keep my nose in a book and get good grades and was actually admired for it! What a wonder!

    3. My mother resisted any change in my schooling outside of the norm, and for the most part I understand why. We just didn't have the means for anything that even remotely smacked of "special."

  4. Somehow this test slotted me as a "creative kid." Not.
I don't think I created anything except in shop class when I made a lamp -- my choice as I couldn't sew and didn't want to cook.

I was always reading, talking, hanging out with other kids, having fun. School was fine for me. I liked it, had no problems, until algebra and chemistry hit in high school! I could not memorize anything after the multiplication tables; that was it.

I also got in trouble for talking in classes. I always wanted to engage with others. When not doing that, I had a book in my hand.

I was in every class and club where one could express one's opinions; I loved that.

    1. I was one of two girls in my class that refused to take Home Ec. I'd participated in 4H for years and already knew how to cook, sew, knit, and a boatload of other housewifely tasks. No. Me? I was more interested in Shop, but that got laughed down really quick! :-)
