The Scattered Buckshot Weekly Link Round-Up

Scattered buckshot? What's she on about now? Well, my brain's been a bit unfocused this week, and it reminded me of a comment a college professor once wrote on one of my papers: "This is a scattered blast of buckshot when what you need here is a well-aimed rifle shot." So it's a good thing that the link round-up naturally hops around a lot, isn't it?

For the past several months, Denis has had a shift that only gave him one entire day off each week, and that really put a crimp in our out-and-about plans. Now he'll have three days off each week, and we're already planning all the day trips we're going to be taking. Time to blow the dust off the camera!

Since my brain is so scattered, I'd better not mess around or I'll forget what I'm supposed to be posting. On to those links!

  • This bookshelf wrapping paper is gorgeous, and if you scroll down the page you'll see that there are other eyecatching designs.
  • Many of us prefer a cup of tea or coffee while we read, and I've found a perfect ring for us.

That's it for this week. Don't forget to stop by next week when I'll have a freshly selected batch of links for your surfing pleasure and (hopefully) sharp, focused little grey cells!

  1. Cathy - What a relief to know I'm not the only one who has a scattered buckshot kind of mind at times. Nice to know I'm not alone... Thanks for the - wait, what was it you just posted? Oh, yeah, the links. ;-)

  2. Oh, I don't know, I think that this was well shot! :) Of course, I have a scattered buckshot mind as well. I have to agree with you about Pinterest. I love it, use it, and just shake my head at some of it. And being from Kentucky, I will get that license plate!! Thanks for all your hard work!

    1. I'm feeling a tad jealous that you can get yourself one of those license plates! I'm glad you enjoy the links.

  3. I like that line about scattered buckshot and the need to aim.

I have not looked at all of the links yet; I like to check out a few at a time.

But I loved the ducks! I just sent out that link far and wide. How adorable! As the slogan says, "takes like a duck to water," only this time they needed a little encouragement.

Keeping ducks from water; that's just mistreatment.

Do you get any fine feathered friends who like to swim in your pool?

    1. We had a period of three or four years when a pair of Mallard ducks would stop by for a swim on a day in March. I always enjoyed watching them swim and nap.

  4. Honestly, I just can't get past the ducks ... keep watching them over and over again.

I guess what worked is they were just thrown in "cold turkey!"

    1. I remember a few things that I had to be thrown into... and that I love now. I've watched that video several times now.

  8. Boy, Kentucky is setting the bar high for library funding!! Let's send this link down the road to the House and see what happens?!?! It's a super idea.

I would have commented sooner, but I forgot what I was doing...."buckshot" moment.

    Back to reading.
