Scene of the Blog Featuring Allison of The Paperback Bookworm!

I'll begin by digressing: Can you believe this is my fourth year of featuring book bloggers' creative spaces? I certainly can't, but it's been a fantastic ride that shows no signs of stopping.

To get back on track, I discovered this week's featured book blogger one evening while I was traveling the Information Superhighway without my road map. (I usually find the best stuff this way.)

Richmond, Virginia resident Allison uses her blog, The Paperback Bookworm, to chart her life's journey as told through the books she reads. As you read through her posts, you'll find out that she read Geraldine Brooks' Caleb's Crossing on a road trip to North Carolina, mentioning Summer Shandys in the same breath as Chris Bohjalian's The Buffalo Soldier will find her ranking the Bohjalian books she's read... and you'll even get to read about  her very first book club experience. I love her sense of humor! If you've never met Allison of The Paperback Bookworm, I hope you take this opportunity to pay a visit to her blog. Don't forget to say howdy while you're there!

If you're visiting from Allison's blog-- Welcome! I'm glad you came over to take a look at Allison's creative spaces! If you'd like to see any of the photos in larger sizes, all you have to do is click on them, and they'll open in new windows.  And if you'd like to take a look at the spaces of previous participants, click on the Scene of the Blog tab at the very top of my header. There are two ways to search: by Blog Name and by Location. Now let's get the tour started before Allison changes her mind!

I am so excited to be Featured in Scene of the Blog, and the timing couldn’t be better.  As this weekend kicked off warm weather in Richmond, I got to spend some time in my favorite reading and blogging spot – my own backyard.

Andrew of the Selective Hearing-- Gardener Extraordinaire!

I love to read the hours away in our small city yard, while Andrew does the actual manual labor of keeping the garden a beautiful place to relax.  Occasionally as he is slaving away I demand he take his shirt off.  Oddly, he never seems to hear that request.

Norman and Allison

World’s Best Dog Norman is always at my side, taking frequent breaks to torment local wildlife.  I am always impeccably groomed and stylishly dressed.  My hair was silky smooth when this photo was taken, but it looks like the filter on my camera must have altered it.

The Creative Hot Spot
While most of my reading and actual blog writing is done outside in the warmer months, I think through my posts – and plots for world domination – in the shower.  Lucky for you dear readership, I am not including a photo of me in the shower.

Allison, I don't blame you about the shower photo. With that faulty filter 'n' all, it wouldn't be a good idea. Besides, a woman needs to keep a few secrets. (Especially when they concern-- Ssshhhh!-- World Domination!)

I do most of my reading outside in the warmer months, too, so I really enjoyed seeing Andrew tidying up your back garden. (Pity about the shirt....) The garden looks lovely and peaceful-- and the perfect place to read and blog. I would imagine that Norman is the perfect companion to keep away all those pesky squirrels that like to leave nut crumbs in your books when your back is turned.

Thank you so much for sharing your creative spaces with us, Allison-- we really appreciate this glimpse into your life and home!

Don't forget to stop by next Wednesday when I'll feature yet another book blogger from our worldwide community!
