This is the last year I went trick or treating. You see me sitting on my grandmother's lap with my grandfather to the right. Halloween just wasn't my thing, but if it's yours, have a boo-tiful time!
LOL Cathy - all look very grim which I suppose is fitting for the occasion. We don't really "do" Halloween here in Oz - though I have noticed in the last few years there is more mention of it as we seem to appropriate more American/TV culture as our own but when I was a kid it was unheard of for an Australian child to go trick or treating
Your grandparents' masks are freaky! I'm surprised you weren't afraid of them. Hehe. That's neat that they dressed up and participated.
My husband told his son the other day that he's going to dress up as an old man because his wife (me) wants to stay home like an old lady. That made me laugh. I'm over Halloween, I guess, now that my son is in high school. Been there, done that. Plus we don't get a lot of trick-or-treaters in our neighborhood.
Mystica-- My grandparents were smiling behind those masks. I was the only gloomy one in the bunch!
Bernadette-- In many many ways I wish we'd keep our culture to ourselves!
Barbara-- I don't know. I don't think they do. Guy Fawkes is very close to Halloween. I remember driving through the English countryside on Guy Fawkes' Night with the sky lit up by all the fireworks. As far as your views on Halloween... I'm beginning to think we're sisters separated at birth!
Lynne-- I'm not sure why, but Halloween has never been my thing.
No one celebrated Halloween in Denmark until recently, and I don´t think it is my thing either. But right now I am plotting a Halloween mystery, and I like being the one in charge of the drama.
No one looks very happy in this!

ReplyDeleteDo they go trick or treating in England? I always assumed it was just an American thing but it wasn't my thing either. Hated costumes.

ReplyDeleteToo cute. I ditched the costume when I was about 11 but I still loved decorating and going out with my friends.
ReplyDeleteDorte-- Have fun being in charge! :)
ReplyDeleteBeth-- The weather here in most of Arizona is much more conducive to trick or treating, that's for sure!
lol - I love this photo!
ReplyDeleteKris-- I can still remember being grumpy about getting dressed up in a silly costume and having to go out trick or treating! LOL
