Oh my gosh, he is gorgeous! I just heard a segment on birds on the radio yesterday and they said there aren't many cardinals in Arizona. It made me think of you, and then today, you post a picture of a cardinal!
Kathy--How strange! The person on the radio is right. There aren't many cardinals in Arizona, and it thrills me whenever I do see one. The two birds I miss the most from growing up in the Midwest are cardinals and blue jays.
Beth--Thanks!
Margot and Dorte--Denis and I took our English visitors to the Arizona-Sonoran Desert Museum down in Tucson while they were here. We were all in the aviary when I saw this cardinal peeking at me from behind a cactus!

ReplyDeleteWonderful picture. I would also love to hear a bit more about when, where and what :)

There's a nest of baby red birds outside my window in a bush. They're SO cute!
