Once again it's time to share some of the favorite pages I discovered in the past week during my journeys around the internet!
Books in the News
- Thousands of people rampaged through a warehouse that had been abandoned by an Amazon supplier. Faint-of-heart book lovers may want to give the photos a miss, and I do think this could've been handled in a better way. The article is here.
- The New York Times had an article about a program referred to as "Read a Book, Get Out of Jail" that I found very interesting.
- The Guardian had an article about the types of books you need to read in order to impress a date.
- Funny but very true, this article talks about 5 Things NOT to Do On Your First Day at Paperbackswap.com.
- The Guardian has a fun quiz called Around the World in Books.
- Likaholix is a place to share, discuss and discover your likes with people you know.
- Ever wanted to have a five-star rating code at the bottom of each of your posts? Here's where you can get the widget.
- Want to learn how to rank highly in search engines? Here's a book on how to do it.
- Have a Blogger blog and want to add code to your template for all the social bookmarking sites. Here are step-by-step instructions and the code you need. It's what I'm using now, and since it's part of my template, it's stable and doesn't morph into something useless.
- I'll be visiting Lady Tink and her blog, The Movieholic & Bibliophile's Blog now that I've found it!
- Persnickety Snark has just been added to my Google Reader, too. (I love the name!)
- Fyrefly has created a Book Blog Search Engine. Give it a try!
- Elizabeth has started a new feature on her blog As usual, I need more bookshelves called What Book Would You Become? based on Ray Bradbury's classic, Fahrenheit 451. I know I'm going to sign up to participate, and I hope you do, too!
- Kay from Kay's Bookshelf has begun a book blog directory.
- Want to hear the latest on the Kindle 2? Jenners of Find Your Next Book Here has one and has written all about it!
Oh, I like this feature, Cathy. It's nice to see your weekly link round-up. I'm enjoying Linkaholix. It's kind of fun.

Wow, thanks for mentioning me! It means something for the bloggers I respect to encourage me like this. =)
ReplyDeleteLesa--it does look like it will be fun!
ReplyDeleteElizabeth--thanks for the compliment. I think that's all any of us need from time to time: just a bit of encouragement!
I really enjoy these weekly round up of links -- helps me find stuff I might have missed! Definitely want to read the Paperback Swap one -- I probably committed some of the sins! And I always like the blog help post you find. And thanks so much for the shout out! : )
ReplyDeleteJenners--you're welcome! As far as the PBS article goes, I know I committed one of the things mentioned, and it was much worse than what happened to the writer!
