Lily and Daisy Introduce the R.E.A.D. Giveaway

Daisy and Lily, Therapy Dogs
Ever since I found out about the R.E.A.D. program, I've been a believer.

R.E.A.D. has a very simple formula: team a child with a dog, and have that child read books to the dog. Is it any wonder that, after reading to a loving, non-judgmental canine, the child's reading ability gets stronger? If you need any more proof, just read Lily's post about being a R.E.A.D. dog!

The R.E.A.D. program can be found throughout the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, and I was thrilled when I discovered that one of my favorite cozy mystery writers, Mary Jane Maffini, happens to be the owner of two therapy dogs. You've already heard from Lily, but Daisy insisted that she be included, too. She works just as hard as Lily, you know!

In honor of the R.E.A.D. program (and of the hard work of Daisy and Lily), I'm holding a giveaway with a twist. Here are the details:
  1. This is an International giveaway.
  2. One winner will have his or her choice of one of the books in Mary Jane Maffini's Charlotte Adams, Professional Organizer, series.
  3. The contest will end on Thursday, November 24, 2011.
  4. The winner will be announced on Friday, November 25, 2011.

Your choice of ONE of these books!
The Charlotte Adams, Professional Organizer, series currently consists of five books. In them, Charlotte's two miniature dachshunds are trying to become therapy dogs. The five books are:

  2. Thanks for the giveaway, Cathe. I think this program is brilliant. Who wouldn't want to read to a dog? Anything that gets kids to enjoy reading is a plus.

  3. Thanks for the giveaway! Our local library does the R.E.A.D. progrm. My sister-in-law is the head of the county libraries and she said it is amazing to watch the kids that have trouble reading read beautifully to a dog. A very worthwhile program!
