An Enjoying Spring Weekly Link Round-Up

Things have been rather sedate here at Casa Kittling, which is nice for a change. Denis did have a couple of medical appointments, and his surgeon wants him to concentrate on his physiotherapy then come back in six to eight weeks. Obviously, there seems to be no hurry to perform that second surgery.

Meanwhile, I've been watching (and listening to) all the baby birds here on the property and keeping all the birdbaths and fountains filled. I've completed one knitting project and have started another, using some of the yarn that I bought while shopping with Karen when she was here. Ever since I first slapped eyes on it, I've been itching to get my needles out and start working with it. Am I an addict? Heavens, no!

Denis and I went to the Desert Botanical Garden last Thursday, and although the place was heaving with people (I heard over a dozen different languages while we were there), it was still a lovely afternoon to be there.

An April afternoon at the Desert Botanical Garden.

Time is running short, so I'd better get to work. I hope all of you are well and happy and enjoying the spring. Enjoy the links!

  1. So glad that you and Denis are able to have adventures and went to the Desert Botanical Garden. A wonderful place for fun. And glad to see you and Karen had a good time and you have a new knitting project and that Denis can wait awhile for his surgery. Glad to learn that people from many communities were at the Garden. And also interesting that more people want to read books; that is a good development. Thanks for the links.

  2. I can just hear those baby birds, Cathy! I'm very glad you and Denis got the chance to visit the Desert Botanical Gardens. I hope you'll share some photos of your day. As far as knitting goes, if you're addicted, well, there are worse things... At any rate, I'm off to Peru. Thanks for the great links!

    1. At least I don't let myself start a new knitting project until I've finished the one I'm working on. (So I still have a slight measure of control...)

  3. Glad to hear things are quiet on the home front! I love listening to the birds, especially in the morning. Sounds like your visit to the Desert Botanical Gardens was a nice change of pace. Have a good weekend!

  4. You and Denis were due for some quiet pleasant time together, and I'm glad you're enjoying it. I love being in places where multiple languages are being spoken, and I can try to figure out which languages they are, or if I'm able to understand any overhead conversation (always a bonus!).

I had not heard about the gondolas in La Paz, so I stopped to check those out as I looked through your captions for the links. That's a detail that increases my interest in traveling south of the US border.

    1. Those gondolas in La Paz fascinated me, too-- and I was doing the exact same thing at the garden-- listening to the different languages to see if I recognized them... and how much I understood. ;-)

  5. Glad you guys are doing well! I took a walk down by the river the other day and saw swallows and a kestrel and a robin sitting on her nest. Spring is such a great time of year to see and hear birds. Enjoy the rest of your weekend! :D
