I hope everyone who celebrates is having just the kind of Thanksgiving they hoped they'd have. And even if you don't celebrate Thanksgiving, I want you to know that I am thankful for you all being a part of my life. You do make a difference.
I want to thank everyone for the emails and cards they've sent. I did have the venous ablation on my leg last week, and the follow-up ultrasound showed that the procedure is doing what it's supposed to. The leg is slowly healing (finally-- after more than a year!), and the pain has lessened quite a bit. All good signs that I hope continue.
Denis and I have been taking it easy in between medical appointments, and I've continued to keep my leg up and my nose stuck in a book. In fact, it's a good thing that I've been stretching out on the bed to read (in a patch of sunshine no less) because when I started reading a book a couple of days ago, I saw that it was dedicated to me. Wow! What an unexpected gift!
You'll be seeing more of me next week because I'll be posting reviews of some new releases. I'm not ready to go back to my old blogging schedule, but I do think I see a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.
Virtual hugs to you all!
I can't tell you how happy I am that your procedure seems to be helping, Cathy, and it's great to hear you're in less pain. That's reason enough to give thanks! I appreciate your keeping us updated, and I hope your healing continues! (Belated) Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving, Cathy! I'm so happy that your leg is getting better finally. Yay! Here's wishing you a quick and problem-free recovery. And lots of good books to read along the way. :D
ReplyDeleteI'm in the middle of a very funny book right now, Lark, so I'd better type faster so I can get back to it! ;-)
DeleteYippee! Congratulations on having the procedure and that it's a success. Hope your leg heals quickly. And so glad that you are reading and eventually there will be review. But take your time and relax and rest -- and not too much news or you'll be throwing books at the TV or computer. Your loyal blog followers will patiently wait for your reviews while we cheer on your recovery. And if you find more shows, let us know. I love High Pontential and am waiting for January for the next episodes. Have a healthier December with good books, movies and food and regards to Denis.
ReplyDeleteI've been doing a good job of ignoring certain areas of the news, which is a very good thing, and as far as TV programs go, Denis and I have been enjoying Ted Danson in The Man on the Inside on Netflix.
DeleteCongratulations! I'm glad you were able to have your procedure and that there are already signs of healing. I hope you and Denis had a good day for Thanksgiving, whether celebrating or just enjoying each other's company. I'll look forward to whatever you feel up to posting without hindering your recovery.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kate. You're a sweetie.
DeleteI meant to add: what a thrill to discover a new book dedicated to you! That's a special gift that comes at a good time for you.
ReplyDeleteAs I said, it's a good thing I was lying down when I saw the dedication page! LOL
DeleteCathy, I am so happy to hear the good news about your surgery on your leg. Wonderful! I know you've been more than patient as all of that was scheduled, etc., etc. Take care and share with us as you can. We will definitely look forward to your thoughts on the books you've been reading. We had a good Thanksgiving with lots of family. Hope you and Denis have a nice weekend! Take care!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear that you've been having a good Thanksgiving, Kay!
DeleteGood news indeed and here are my best wishes for continued improvement!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Dorothy!
DeleteSo glad your procedure did its work! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the books you have been reading. Hope your Thanksgiving was perfect!
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't perfect... but close!
DeleteI"m hooked now on Will Trent on Hulu. Interesting mind Karen Slaughter has and I like the cast.
ReplyDeleteYes, I mentioned that one a few months ago. I'm hoping for a new season.
DeleteYou mentioned Will Trent? I didn't write it down. I binge-watched Body of Proof at Hulu a few weeks ago which was what I needed to do. I'm tempted to get Apple+ as Lessons in chemistry and some other tempting shows are on it. Wow, these shows are addictive. Glad you liked Will Trent. The cast is good and I like Betty. Oh, no, the news is on. Have to go to Hulu fast or open my book.
