How's this for someplace to while away a morning or an afternoon with a good book? A porch swing made for someone who likes to sprawl out (like me). Pillows. A nice big table behind to put all your necessities: books, notebooks, pens, snacks, drinks. A pool with waterlilies. If there are fish in that pool, I could easily spend time watching them. In fact, the only thing wrong with this reading spot is that there's no shade overhead. Add that, and it would be perfect.
What do you think?
What a beautiful place to read, Cathy! I love that peaceful-looking water, and the seat looks comfortable (that table looks handy, too). But you're right; it needs some sort of protection overhead. Still, it's very pretty and peaceful.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is.
DeleteMy favorite spot in our yard is a bench under the magnolia tree next to our little goldfish pond. It is a peaceful place and the fish always entertain me. Your picture looks like a comfortable place to sprawl but I wouldn't want to read there. I much prefer my own comfy chair.
ReplyDeleteYour favorite spot sounds much like my grandmother's in her back garden: a bench under a magnolia tree right next to her goldfish ponds (made from two old bathtubs buried in the ground). I spent quite a bit of time there, too.
DeleteI agree with the need for some shade, and with the above comment about having a chair option also - the back support can be important. But I wouldn't let those details get in the way of enjoying an afternoon in that setting!
ReplyDeleteNeither would I!
