Now that September is here, many of you are thinking of the end of summer and the beginning of autumn. Here in the Sonoran Desert, I don't start thinking about the end of summer until October.
But whatever way you look at it, reading outside can be fun. Granted, I can't say that I get a lot of reading done if the wildlife around me grabs my attention, but I still love being outside.
What do you think of this outdoor reading spot? Sometimes when I look at it, I think of a wildlife hide that I could use to watch all the critters in the area and wear out my camera batteries. Other times, I think of it as a hideaway in which I'd take all my necessities (books, nibbles, drinks, etc.), pull up the "drawbridge", close the curtain, and lose myself in the written word.
What do you think?
I like it although the steps are intimidating. I do like reading in nature.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretending that I could get up and down those steps easily myself.
DeleteDitto. I have problems with one leg, although they differ from yours.
DeleteWhat a great idea! it looks like it fits in with the surroundings, too, which I especially like. You could even have a bucket and rope, so people could send up snacks and cold drinks.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea!
DeleteWhat a cute little hideaway. The fun I would have had playing there when I was a kid! Though, as a kid at heart, I'd still love to hang out there with my snacks and books. :D
ReplyDeleteYes! It's a hideaway for all ages.
DeleteOMG I can finally comment!! Yay!! I like the idea of outdoor reading but I do not like bugs and I am a bug magnet. My ideal situation would be an enclosed sun porch.
ReplyDeleteMy grandparents' screened-in porch was one of my favorite summer hangouts before I moved away. (I'm so glad you can comment! Blogger can give me conniptions at times.)
DeleteIt's a pretty spot for sitting and observing - not for reading - but my knees would rebel at thse steps.
ReplyDeleteIn real life, they'd do me in, too, unfortunately. But I can always daydream.
DeleteIn the right conditions, that would be a perfect getaway. Almost as good (in many ways better) than a day at the beach. Great place to read in peace...and a blind from which to observe the critters who come by.
ReplyDeleteNo sand to get into all and sundry...
DeleteVery appealing! The curtains look like mosquito netting, to keep insects away if they swarm too much. I enjoy reading outside, but don't like direct sunlight, so this would be a lovely option.
ReplyDeleteI'd never read in full sun here. I'd be a crispy critter in about five minutes!
DeleteIt is lovely to look at, even by those of us with leg, bug, other problems.
