After reading S.A. Cosby's visceral Razorblade Tears, I knew that I'd be coming back for more-- his stories and writing style are much too good to ignore. In fact, the Washington Post described Cosby as "one of the most muscular, distinctive, grab-you-by-both-ears voices in American crime fiction."
When I learned that Cosby would have a new book coming out in June, you know what happened: I immediately had to find out more about it. Let me share...

Synopsis:
"After years of working as an FBI agent, Titus Crown returns home
to Charon County, land of moonshine and cornbread, fist fights and
honeysuckle. Seeing his hometown struggling with a bigoted police force
inspires him to run for sheriff. He wins, and becomes the first Black
sheriff in the history of the county.
Then a year to the day after his election, a young Black man is fatally shot by Titus’s deputies.
Titus pledges to follow the truth wherever it leads. But no one expected he would unearth a serial killer who has been hiding in plain sight, haunting the dirt lanes and woodland clearings of Charon.

Just reading this synopsis gets my heart beating a little faster. All the Sinners Bleed certainly has the potential to be a real barn burner, and I can't wait to read it.
This does sound good, Cathy. I do like the setting and context, and it'll be interesting to see where he goes with this one...

DeleteThanks for reminding me. I would have sworn that I had read "Razorblade Tears" but nope - I checked my reviews and it wasn't there. So I checked my TBR list and voila! I'm not sure how I overlooked it but I will remedy that soon and then I'll look forward to reading this new one you write about. S.A. Cosby is a very talented writer.

ReplyDeleteI have yet to go back and read Blacktop Wasteland, and I don't know why. Razorblade Tears was the one to put him in my Pay Attention category. He certainly has the knack for memorable titles!
