If you've been visiting Kittling: Books for any length of time, you know that I am a diehard Craig Johnson fan. With that in mind, picture my Happy Dance when I learned that the next Longmire mystery will be available in September!

It sounds as though Hell and Back is going to take up where Daughter of the Morning Star left off as Walt heads for that Indian boarding school. It also sounds like Walt's going to have a tough time of it again. Regardless what happens, I'm reading this book. Walt and the rest of the cast are family, and I'm not about to miss what happens to any of them. But, oh how I wish Walt comes out of the darkness soon. He deserves a book in which he can rest, relax, and laugh!
Oh, now, that does sound intriguing, Cathy! As you know, I like this series a lot, and it'll be interesting to know what happens in this entry. I kind of hope it'll bring Longmire back to the sort of reflective, thinking detective he's been in the past. Or perhaps that's just me...

DeleteThis has been on my radar since I finished Daughter of the Morning Star. I agree that Walt needs a lighter outing - there must be something going on that would let him smile and shake his head over what his deputies are getting into ...

ReplyDeleteI am terrible at beginning series and then either lagging far behind with them or abandoning them altogether. Craig Johnson's is one of the few that I stay current on. I suppose that might say something profound about me (or Johnson).
