Scene of the Blog Featuring Vicky of Books, Biscuits and Tea!

I must have run across a comment Vicky left on a blog shortly after she began her own in September 2011. Her blog-- Books, Biscuits and Tea-- was started for the same reason that many of the rest of us began our own: a lack of friends who love to read as much as we do.

The name of her blog describes a perfect night in for this university student who loves to read mysteries, chick lit, Young Adult and adult fiction.

Vicky participates in memes, is a Net Galley fanatic, has started a studio for custom blog designs, and even shares things like a holiday recipe from her native Hungary. (I'll be trying to make poppy seed and walnut rolls next Christmas!)

If you've never visited Books, Biscuits and Tea before, I hope you take this opportunity to stop by and say hello. If you're visiting from Vicky's blog-- welcome to Kittling: Books! If you'd like to see any of her photos in larger sizes, all you have to do is click on them, and they'll open in a new window. Vicky's going to give us a tour of her creative spaces, so let's not keep her waiting!

Vicky's desk

This is my desk, where I do most of my blogging. It is located in a corner of my bedroom – it might seem a “little bit” crammed but it’s because my bedroom is quite small. As you can see, I have a corkboard with tons of photos, my uni timetable and a couple of post it notes.

This is where I write my blog posts most of the time.

Burning the midnight oil

That’s me, working late at night.

Blogging in bed

Next up is my bed. This is where I read most of the time. Although I prefer to do blogging and reviewing at my desk, I like to curl up in bed under a warm blanket with a hot cuppa or some chocolate! I often have my laptop with me, even if I’m in bed reading – I can’t live without it. I tend to make notes when I’m reading a book I got for review and that’s when my laptop comes in handy.

By the way, tea (or hot chocolate) and snacks are a must – I literally can’t read without having these two! I’ve never really liked chocolate the way people do (that is, I’m not obsessed with it – I like it but I can live without it) so I usually go for biscuits or crisps instead.

You can see my bookcase in the background - it’s not as big as I would like it to be but my room is so tiny that it would be quite hard to fit a bigger one in.

Planning that next blog post....

And last but not least, here’s my cat, who is *cough* actively *cough* taking part in the blogging/reviewing process…..

Well, Vicky, you know that some blog posts require more thought than others, and it's always best to do one's deepest thinking with one's eyes closed.........

Your room may be tiny, but I do like what you've done with it. I love the map on the wall and the pictures surrounding it, and I would definitely be taking a look at all the books on your shelves!

Thank you for spending this time with us and allowing us this glimpse into your creative spaces. We certainly appreciate it!

Don't forget to stop by next Wednesday when I'll be featuring another book blogger from our worldwide community on Scene of the Blog!

  7. This kind of reminds me of my prep school dorm room except that they wouldn't let us put stuff on the walls - stuffy, you know. I love all the mementos and pictures, it makes the room so comfy and cozy. The cat is just mulling things over for the review, that's all. :)

  8. Ha, I love this kind of feature!

Your room looks so cosy Vicky! I like the stuffed animals on your desk and the beware of the cats sign, lol. And you have a big map of England which is pretty awesome.

I feel so sneaky, trying to see all of the books on your shelves.

  10. I love this kind of blog post...when we hop around the blogosphere, we get a sense of the bloggers by the books they read and the look of the blog itself...But a little story and some photos makes the person seem like a friend or neighbor.

    Thanks!
