Some of you may have noticed the R.E.A.D. graphic on my sidebar. R.E.A.D. stands for Reading Education Assistance Dogs, and it's a program in which I really believe. Author Mary Jane Maffini saw the graphic and emailed me to ask if I had a R.E.A.D. dog. I don't, but she does-- which has led to emails and plans between us.
On Thursday, November 3, a very special guest will tell us all about her personal experiences in the R.E.A.D. program. Furthermore, it won't be a mere guest post by Lily Maffini, R.E.A.D. Dog Extraordinaire. Lily wouldn't leave it at that. No sir!
I will also be conducting a giveaway, and since I'll be using The Book Depository, this giveaway will be open worldwide. One lucky person will win his or her choice of one of Mary Jane Maffini's books in the Charlotte Adams cozy mystery series. Why this series? Because in it, Charlotte Adams' dogs, Truffle and Sweet Marie, are trying to become R.E.A.D. dogs, that's why!
In addition, for every individual comment left on the giveaway post, I'll be contributing one dollar to the R.E.A.D. program. (To be clear: I haven't won the lottery, so a one comment per person rule applies.)
On Friday, November 25 (the day after we celebrate Thanksgiving in the U.S.), I'll announce the winner of the book and let everyone know how much money will be donated to the R.E.A.D. program.
Here's your chance to read a very special guest post, to win a book, and to help do some good just as the holiday season goes into full swing. Are you with me???
I got a few organizing tips from Maffini's cozy mysteries, which are quite enjoyable. Great giveaway!
