Getting in the Mood for This Weekly Link Round-Up

I just might be getting in the mood for the holidays-- I bought 6 Christmas-themed magazines today, and I've already saved recipes for lemon carrot bread, gingerbread cupcakes, spiced pecans, citrus almond cookies, soft honey cookies, and an idea for new decorations on the dining room chandelier! I was in no shape to decorate at all last year, so I have to admit that I am looking forward to all the decorating I do. If I actually do some baking as well, it will make the season even more special after the bleakness of 2010. (Of course Denis may also have me committed as being an imposter....)

This week the two of us drove out Superior way to visit the Boyce-Thompson Arboretum. The sun was strong enough for us to appreciate the shady parts, and Denis and I both managed to take some good photographs. I'll be sharing some of mine on future Wednesdays. (Wow... I just looked up Superior. I didn't realize how many movies had been filmed there!)

Now about those links....

Christmas is coming...
  • If you like sending the occasional snail mail note card and like the art of Deborah DeWit (featured on my sidebar), here's where you go to buy DeWit's note cards.
  • Are there times when you can't turn the light on at night, but you want to read? Hint to folks that you'd like to have a Hydra book light. (It's much better than hiding under the blanket with a flashlight.)

Book Candy

Well... you've heard of eye candy, haven't you?

  1. Cathy - Thanks as ever for these links. Only why did you have to mention the C-word already!? ;-)

  2. I happen to like this particular C-word, Margot. I don't get stressed out by Christmas. I take the bits I love and amplify them, and I ignore the bits I don't like. I'm fortunate that I live in circumstances that allow me to do so.
