It's a rare day here in Phoenix: grey and overcast. We did manage to have one monsoon storm this week that flooded the yard (but fortunately not the pool), and it's always amazing to see how quickly the flora in the desert shows its appreciation. Enough of rain, though. Let's get on to the links!

That's all for this week. Denis, whose hearing isn't the best after years of testing weapons systems, etc. in the Royal Navy, had tubes put in his ears yesterday. Now he's got infection in both ears. Those antibiotics better work FAST!
Hopefully a few of my gleanings tickled your fancy this week. Don't forget to stop by next Friday when I'll have a brand-new batch of links for your surfing pleasure!
Thanks for all the great links! Tell Denis to get well quick!
ReplyDeleteLots of links here that I missed through the week, I love your weekly round-up!
ReplyDeleteGhostbusters in the library is fun. Notice how many New Yorkers just went right on with what they were doing? Very funny bit.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great links. I read almost every one. Steph Su Reads' post about feeling overwhelmed about blogging and reading was thought-provoking and well-timed; I feel her pain! The comment section shows that many others do too.
ReplyDeleteI hope your Denis gets well soon. All the best. Thanks, Cathy.
ReplyDeleteI've been off reading some of the links in this post. Very interesting. I love this post you do every week, even if I don't always tell you. You get to so many places I don't.
ReplyDeleteKathy-- The antibiotics are kicking in, so he's starting to feel more human. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteAmy-- I'm glad. Thanks!
Barbara-- I thought so, too!
Lynne-- Sometimes the comment section on some of these posts is every bit as interesting as the post itself.
Michael-- He's acting more like himself today, thank heavens!
Margot-- I'm glad you enjoy it so much. Thanks for letting me know!
Thanks for the links! I read with interest the one about bloggers "rushing to fill the void"...it actually made me laugh it was so obviously sour grapes (especially when he accuses the bloggers at BEA of "hogging" the Internet access!!). The traditional media outlets are so threatened by book bloggers that they continue to try to belittle them and point out how bloggers can't REALLY fill the void that the print media has dominated! Ah, well...
ReplyDeleteI have four tabs open to posts I missed. Thanks! One of them is the "fill in the void" post. Off to do some reading.
ReplyDeleteWendy-- Yes, his batch of grapes would definitely be used to make vinegar!
ReplyDeleteBeth-- Happy reading!
