Weekly Link Round-Up

Monsoon is making an appearance again. It's 110°F. (43°C.) and the humidity is up. I don't know about any of the rest of you, but I don't mess around with that junk about "glowing". I don't "glow"; I sweat. This time of year, the only thing to do is go sit in the pool with a book and a tall cold drink. That way I'm doing neither one and enjoying myself tremendously at the same time. In view of what I'd prefer to be doing, let's see what I've rounded up in the way of links for you so I can beat a path to the pool!

That's all for this week. Don't forget to stop by next Friday when I'll have a fresh batch of links for your surfing pleasure.

Stay cool, everyone!

  5. I don't glow or sweat either one very well. My face turns purple, everyone thinks I'm about to croak, and that's it. No wonder the heat gets to me so much. Dave says my thermostat is broken, or was that during hot flashes? :)

  7. Staci-- The pool always works for me. I'm lucky that way. Plus... it gives me an excuse not to cook! LOL

Beth-- Fortunately I finally came up with a system that works for me. Took a while, though!

Barbara-- Nah, I know people whose thermostats broke when they were kids!

Dorte-- I really liked that one, too!

  8. I learned to read and write in the 80's and I can't stand the abbreviations kids use these days either! Sure..I use some, but not too many. when I text I still spell out most words, as do my friends. Ugh..I just can't stand the way kids write these days! I hope new parents can do something about their kids so future generations put down the electronics and pick up a book and appreciate our the written word.

    ok..I'm done now. haha

  10. Kris-- That's okay. I understand precisely what you're saying. Although it wasn't stressed all that much, when I began writing things in school, it was always one of my major objectives to make sure that everyone who read what I wrote had no trouble understanding it. I had horrible handwriting, so I fixed it. Anything that could possibly make people misunderstand what I was trying to say was done away with... and that would also mean weird abbreviations!

RAnn-- I'm so glad that you enjoy it!
