Pronunciation Does Matter...

...and author Sharyn McCrumb very clearly tells us why. I thought I'd give you this little appetizer today. Stop by tomorrow for my review of McCrumb's latest book in her Ballad series, The Devil Amongst the Lawyers, on its release date.

  3. Mary-- You're welcome. I'm glad you liked it.

Kate-- You're welcome. Odd how something so very simple can convey so much meaning, isn't it?

Kathy-- So am I! The wrong pronunciation was common where I grew up, but it never sounded right to me. Must be because my ancestors lived in the same part of Appalachia that McCrumb's did!

  4. I'm anxious to see your review since I just started the book today. I learned how to say Appalachia correctly on a recent television series about the region.

  5. Barbara-- I've always pronounced it correctly, but then a goodly portion of my ancestors are from there. :)
