Scene of the Blog Featuring Callista of SMS Book Reviews!

This week Scene of the Blog heads north to Canada to visit Callista of SMS Book Reviews. Callista specializes in adult non-fiction and children's books, and although I was first drawn to her blog by its clean, crisp design, like all good book blogs, it was the content that made me stay.

If you haven't visited Callista's blog, I hope you take this opportunity to do so. Say hi while you're there!

Now it's time for me to shut up and let Callista show us her blogging space. Don't forget that you can click on each photo to view it full size. Take it away, Callista!

This is where I blog. It's an okay desk but I have lots of stuff on it. My keyboard pulls out which is good because otherwise it would always be covered in papers and books. As you can see I've utilized every inch of my desk from on top of the computer and monitor to every shelf. I tidied up the desk a little before taking the picture so it's actually messier than that. On the right is a pull out table that is constantly pulled out with books to be reviewed piled on it.

Up top is review books to be read although most of them are now on a bookshelf. The pile of horizontal papers on the shelf is papers "to be filed" which haven't been filed for years. The cupboards are full too, of books and computer disks and manuals and parts. I sadly do not own a laptop although I am DYING to get one so I can do some blogging in other rooms or relaxing on the couch. I'd really rather have a clean looking organized desk but it just never works out that way, so I go with it.

I don't quite know why I'm smiling, but I can't help but take a look at Callista's desk and remember that she's taking part in the Clear Away the Clutter Readathon. Am I making fun of her cluttered desk? Heavens, no! I'd hate to tell you about the piles I cleared off my own desk this past weekend. (Almost needed to pile all of it in my desk chair so I could roll it across the floor and out to the proper room.)

Yes, every inch of Callista's desk is being used, and I'll bet that she knows exactly where to find everything. I, too, am a fan of keyboard drawers for the same reason-- it keeps me from piling things on the keyboard and mouse! I think Callista suffers from the Busy Blogger Boogie, and I'm glad that she agreed to participate. Yes, indeed-- it is very possible to create an excellent blog when your desk is cluttered!

Thank you so much for this glimpse into your creative space, Callista. We really appreciate it.

Who will be featured next Wednesday on Scene of the Blog? Stop by and see!

  6. My home office is a spare bedroom so I have lots of space, but the sign on my door, "Caution: Crisis in Progress," is there for a very obvious reason. It always looks like a hurrican blew through.

  9. Lol! This desk does kinda look cluttered but then again who am I to talk? I don't even have a desk but a table with a computer on it and it's just as cluttered if not more :)
Thanks for sharing your space with us, Callista.

  11. Our desk is just as cluttered, so don't feel bad. Since I got a laptop, the desk is my husband's and he's never been one to keep things neat. At least your clutter is neat. ;)

  12. I forgot to come back to see the latest comments. Thanks to those who admitted theirs was cluttered too. I'd like to think it would be neater if I had more space in my house but probably not!
