Would You Have Made a Good 1930's Wife?

You Would Make a Horrible 1930's Wife

You are way too non conformist, independent, and sassy to be an ideal retro wife.

You may be so wild that you aren't even considering marriage!

Good thing we don't live in the 1930s anymore!

  1. This was cute. I was sort of a 1930's wife. I posted it to my Facebook. It said I probably wouldn't want him anyway. LOL

  2. I was surprised because it said I would make an okay 1930's wife - I figured I'd be a horrible one!

  3. This is what I go:

You Would Make an Okay 1930's Wife

You have some of the attributes of an ideal 1930's wife... but you probably didn't intend it to be that way.
You don't buy into retro gender roles, though you do embrace your femininity at times.
A 1930's man may find you passable, but you probably wouldn't want anything to do with him.

  11. I'd be horrible one too -- no particular surprise to me or to Mr. BFR.

  12. I'd Be an Okay 30s Wife, which doesn't surprise me. What does surprise me is how much my 40s and 50s upbringing still affects me in 2010. I still can't wear white before Memorial Day or after Labor Day - my prep school would be proud.

  13. Beth-- If our husbands had wanted a 1930's wife, they would've married one!

Barbara-- I'm hit or miss on that myself. The white rule doesn't mean much to me but I think that's more due to climate than anything else. It's over the century mark here well before Memorial Day and well past Labor Day!
