The rules for Friday Feud are simple:
--Try your best not to duplicate answers, but if you feel you need to, try to put your own special spin on your response.
--All answers should be left in the comments section of this post.
There. That was relatively painless, eh? Now let's get down to the fun part and play the Feud!
This week's question:
You've just gotten the wonderful news that your favorite author's latest book is now available, and you're running to the bookstore to get your copy. Who is your favorite author?
Robert Jordan
ReplyDeleteJo Nesbo
ReplyDeleteOooh, that's a tough one! I'm going to say Barbara Kingsolver. I might have a different answer if you ask me later!
ReplyDeleteONE favourite?
ReplyDeleteNo, that is impossible. I don´t even like trying to come up with a top-ten. There are far too many brilliant books out there.
Currently? Today I would run for a new Harlan Coben.
ReplyDeleteThat is difficult but I would have to say Penny Vincenzi since I loved her trilogy about the publishing family in Britain so much. It started in WWI and encompassed 4 generations.
ReplyDeleteThis is definitely a though one, but I will go with Khaled Housseini.
ReplyDeleteI can't name just one....Monica Ali, Tracy Chevalier, Nicole Galland, Jhumpa Lahiri, Ann Patchett, Matthew Pearl, Mahbod Seraji, Tom Rob Smith ...
ReplyDeleteMem Fox. Or Bill Bryson. Or, if returning from the dead is part of this deal, then Jerome K. Jerome. Part of me is pulled to echo Bermudaonion, because Kingsolver is such a master, but luckily, I remembered the rules just in time.
ReplyDeleteJoanna Fluke - hands down. I rarely actually read it right away, but I always buy a copy right away.
ReplyDeleteI have tons and tons of favorite authors but if pressed I guess I'd have to say Charlaine Harris.
ReplyDeleteStephen King - I know, I know!
ReplyDeleteLisa Shearin.... or Tasha Alexander... or Deanna Raybourn... :D
ReplyDeletePS randomly came across your blog today... which is weird since I totally thought I had your blog on my reader already!?! Clearly I'm losing all track of what's in my reader...
ReplyDeleteLori Lansens hands down. If you haven't read this fabuous Canadian, I really encourage you to check her out. The Wife's Tale is newly released in Canada and on it's way to the US soon.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm back to say time is almost up in the BBAW awards, where Kittling books is up for two awards, both thoroughly deserved. So, why not check 'em out and vote at http://bookbloggerappreciationweek.com/index.php/awards
ReplyDeleteSo hard to choose, but I'll say P.D. James.
ReplyDeleteSince Kathy already took Barbara Kingsolver, who does have a new book coming in a month or two, I will have to pick someone else. I'll say Agatha Christie. I know she is no longer alive but they could discover an unpublished manuscript hidden behind a secret passageway of her old house, right?
ReplyDeleteMo Hayder!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThere is no way of God's green earth that I could name one favourite author - Mo Hayder, Bill Bryson, Stephen King, Graham Masterton, Lesley Pearse, Harlan Coben, James Lee Burke, Philippa Gregory, the list is just endless - sorry!
