Rating: C
First Line: First of all, let me say that a fart is puny, transitory, and evanescent.
I have to admit that I got this book from another Paperback Swap member as a joke gift for my husband, and I didn't read it-- Denis did. This marks Denis's first review here at Kittling: Books.
Who Cut the Cheese? is a compilation of stories and facts about farting. When Denis began to read it, he did find the book amusing, but after getting about halfway through, I noticed that he wasn't picking up the book with any great joy.
I asked him if he liked the book. He said, "I did at first, but now it's really beginning to drag." I asked him if he really wanted to finish reading it. He finally admitted that he didn't. What was his succinct opinion of this book?
"I live it. I don't have to read about it!"
Hmmm...perhaps I should get him to do more one-line reviews. What do you think?
A one line review worked for me. I just about stopped at the title.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, that is just too funny!
ReplyDeleteMargot--It's definitely one of those love it or hate it titles!
ReplyDeleteKathy--I almost fell out of my chair when he gave me his review. Of course I had the full effects of voice, facial expressions, etc. ;)
Succinct, funny and very loveable - how lucky you are, Cathy! Yes, I want more one liners for sure.
ReplyDeleteSusan--I read him your comment. The Cheshire Cat couldn't've won that grinning contest!
ReplyDeleteThat's the best one-line book reviews I've read. I'm still laughing!
ReplyDeleteBelle--Glad you enjoyed it!
