Mailbox Monday-- Not Worth Writing Home About

This almost isn't worth posting about, other than the shock value to all of you! This past week, I sent one book to a new Paperback Swap foster home, and I only received two books.

Is anyone feeling faint?

This doesn't bother me at all because my TBR shelves are absolutely crammed. I have to concentrate on what I've already got so I can make room for more. Of course I could just post a bunch more books to my shelf at Paperback Swap, send them out, create more space on the shelves out in the library and do some shelf rearranging, but something's telling me to hold off on that.

Anyway, here's the measly two books I received last week, and might I add that they're only measly in quantity-- definitely not in quality!

  1. Where Memories Lie by Deborah Crombie (A), her latest book to come out in paperback. I've only got one other book left in the series to read before I'm ready for this one. Since this Duncan Kincaid/Gemma James series is one that Denis enjoys so much, it won't take me long to catch up.
  2. Shakespeare's Counselor by Charlaine Harris (PBS), the last in the Lily Bard mystery series set in Arkansas. Anyone looking for a cozy mystery series that has an unusual, rather edgy character should check this one out. The first book in the series is Shakespeare's Landlord.
I'm so used to writing book-length posts for Mailbox Monday that this one feels a bit strange! The time I save here will be put to good use on another post.

A big Thank You to Marcia of The Printed Page for hosting this meme. If you'd like to see what others got in their mailboxes last week, just click on that hungry-looking gator at the top of this post!

  1. Thank you! I have just put a hold on the Charlaine Harris book - Shakespeare's Landlord - sounds great! I like to start at the beginning of a series.

  7. I had a slow week too.

Charlaine Harris is quite the author. I just bought all 8 Sookie Stackhouse Books. I think when I am done with them I will have to look into her other books.

    My MM is HERE

  9. Kate--I hope you like it! (And you're not alone when it comes to preferring to start at the beginning!)

Caspette--You usually hear all about Sookie Stackhouse when Charlaine Harris is mentioned, but I prefer her other two series centered around Lily Bard and Harper Connolly.

    Sassy--I'll have to take a look! :)

    Kathy--Slow can be very nice!

    Marie--I'll go take a look!

    Blodeuedd--I'm sure I will. :)

    Cindy--I prefer Harris' non-Sookie books.

Mary--I'm sure I will. Thanks for stopping by!

  10. I only got one book this week (but it was so good I've read it twice already!). I'm looking forward to reading the Crombie book, although I have a few more in that series to read first. Enjoy your books!

  16. I should have specified that it was a graphic memoir, so fairly easy to read twice in two days!

  18. Marie--You're welcome!

    Wendi--Thanks for stopping by!

Gwen--It certainly is. I started reading the series late last year, and only have 2 more books to read to catch up. Once I'm done reading them, it's my husband's turn because he's gotten hooked on the series, too.

    Anna--Thanks!
