This fountain is right outside the patio door. I was sitting on the couch in the family room, waiting for these two to show up. The little finch on the side saw what I was up to just as I took the photo.
There is a hummingbird who uses this fountain to drink and to take a bath. I'm determined to get a shot of him, too!
Love this! We have goldfinches here in NJ (don't know if they are the lesser ones !) and they have the most brilliant yellow in the summer (at least the males do) and are so drab in the winter.
Jenners--without hauling out my Sibley's I'd say that lesser goldfinches are pretty widespread, so chances are good that you have them there in New Jersey.
