Tuesday Thingers--Popularity

Marvelous Marie over at The Boston Bibliophile asks: What's the most popular book in your library? Have you read it? What did you think? How many users have it?

The most popular book in my library is Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. 37,385 LTers have the book, and 363 have reviewed it. I'd heard about Harry Potter, but it wasn't until about the fourth book in the series that I finally broke down--on the recommendation of two very good friends--and bought a copy of this book to read. I fell in love.

I just went back to take a look at the 25 Most Popular Books at LibraryThing. I own (and have read) all but three of this list. And here I thought my reading tastes weren't very mainstream!

Do you belong to LibraryThing? Then you should participate in this fun meme! You'll learn a lot about LibraryThing and meet some wonderful people along the way. Click on the TuesdayThingers logo at the top of this post to be taken to the Tuesday Thingers home.

  2. Same book here! Oh, and I have 19 of the most popular books, and I've read 21 of them. I'm mainstream too I guess!

  3. I've read quite a few of the top-listed books, too - but not all those Harry Potter books. I'm mainstream, but not that mainstream!

  5. I have all the HP books, but I haven't put them into LT yet. So my answer was at least a bit different!

  12. Cathy, that's pretty impressive that you've read all but three of the top 25!
