Mailbox Monday--Reveling in Excess

I sent 23 books to new homes last week, and received 15 because I couldn't stay away from Bookcloseouts' sale and free shipping. Here's the rundown on what I received:

--Publish and Perish by Sally S. Wright, the first in the Ben Reese mystery series about an archivist in the 1960s. (PBS)

--The River by Gary Paulsen, the companion novel to Hatchet. (PBS)

--Anything Goes by Jill Churchill, the first Grace and Favor mystery. (PBS)

--The Redbreast by Jo Nesbo, the first Detective Harry Hole mystery, set in Norway. (BC)

--Signs in the Blood by Vicki Lane, the first Elizabeth Goodweather mystery. Goodweather is a 50-something widow who owns an herb and flower farm in North Carolina. (PBS)

--Art's Blood by Vicki Lane, the second in the Goodweather series. (PBS)

--A Beautiful Place to Die by Philip R. Craig, the first Martha's Vineyard mystery. (PBS)

--An English Murder by Louise Doughty, about a murder in a small English village. (PBS)

--Confederates in the Attic by Tony Horwitz, which is a travelogue showing how the Lost Cause still resonates in the memory and rituals of the South. (PBS)

--Trees: West, a Smithsonian identification guide for the trees of the western US. I always have to know what I see when I'm wandering around with my camera! (BC)

--National Geographic Birder's Journal to help me find out just how many birds I've seen in my life. (BC)

--The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven by Sherman Alexie, a collection of short stories. Alexie is one of my favorite authors and is quite talented at portraying life on the reservation for many Native Americans. (BC)

--Flight by Sherman Alexie is the portrait of an orphaned Indian boy who travels back and forth in time in search of his true identity. (BC)

--Nemesis by Jo Nesbo, the second in the Detective Harry Hole mystery series. (BC)

--Barefoot Hearted: A Wild Life Among Wildlife by Kathleen Meyer. (BC)

One of the things I like about Bookcloseouts is, since it's based in Canada, I can get hold of books that have yet to be published in the US--like Nemesis.

If you're insatiably curious about the books that other people receive--like I am--click on the Christmas mailbox to be taken to the home of Mailbox Monday, Marcia's The Printed Page!
