Mailbox Monday--Back to Normal

The week after I mail out a lot of Paperback Swap books is usually quiet. This past week was no exception. It's a bit like the book sharks taking a nap after a feeding frenzy. I mailed four books to new homes, and received ten--much more like normal than the paltry three I received the week before! Here's what I received last week:

--Death of a Healing Woman by Allana Martin, the first in the Texana Jones mystery series. Texana owns a trading post on the Texas border. Her husband is the local vet. (PBS)

--The Body in the Transept by Jeanne M. Dams, the first in the Dorothy Martin mystery series. Dorothy is an American ex-pat who now lives in a small college town outside London. (PBS)

--The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin, a Young Adult mystery that involves a will which turns out to be a contest to find the dead person's killer. (PBS)

--The Glass Devil by Helene Tursten, the second in the Inspector Irene Huss mysteries set in Sweden. (PBS)

--Blonde Roots by Bernardine Evaristo, an ARC I received through Shelf Awareness, which reverses the history of the transatlantic slave trade. What if Africans had enslaved Europeans?

--The Haunted Bookshop by Christopher Morley takes up where Parnassus On Wheels left off. Since I enjoyed Parnassus On Wheels so much, I'm really looking forward to this one. (PBS)

--The Mermaid in the Basement by Gilbert Morris, the first Lady Trent historical mystery set in nineteenth century London. (PBS)

--Wesley the Owl: The Remarkable Love Story of an Owl and His Girl by Stacey O'Brien, about a young woman who agrees to care for a four-day-old barn owl that can't be released into the wild. I've already read over forty pages and, critter lover that I am, I'm loving it! (PBS)

--The Englishman's Daughter: A True Story of Love and Betrayal in World War I by Ben Macintyre. (PBS)

--Gold Rush Dogs by Claire Rudolf Murphy & Jane G. Haigh, about some of the most notable dogs of the North. (PBS)
