Mailbox Monday: A Quiet Week

It was much quieter last week, which is a good thing because I still hadn't recuperated from mailing all those books the week before. I sent out 3 books and had a grand total of 7 arrive at their new home.

--The Summoning God by Kathleen O'Neal Gear and W. Michael Gear. This is the second volume in their Anasazi mystery series. I enjoyed the first book not only for the setting (which is within a day's drive of here) but also for the mystery and a glimpse into a culture that disappeared centuries ago.

--Faithful Unto Death by Caroline Graham, the 5th in the Inspector Barnaby mystery series set in the south of England. I love the characters in this series!

--A Ghost in the Machine by Caroline Graham, the 7th in the Inspector Barnaby series. As you can see, I'm "filling in the blanks" on this series--don't want to miss a single one!

--The Physician's Tale by Ann Benson is the third book in a trilogy. All three have two storylines, two sets of characters, two time periods. Both time periods are seeing countless thousands die of plague. Both time periods have two doctors searching for a cure. The first two in the trilogy are excellent, so I'm quite pleased that I now have the third.

--Terror on Tuesday by Ann Purser is the second in the mystery series about house cleaner Lois Meade set in a small village in England.

--Killing the Fatted Calf by Susan Kelly is the second in the Gregory Summers mystery series set in the Thames Valley in England. A friend of mine enjoyed the first in the series as much as I did, so this one has a new home as soon as I'm finished.

--Rough Medicine: Surgeons at Sea in the Age of Sail by Joan Druett is yet another book by Druett that I add to my collection. She is one of the best maritime history writers in the world. I've read four of her books and loved every one.

If you're just as curious about the books people get as I am, head on over to Marcia's blog, The Printed Page, so you can satisfy your curiosity with other participants in this fun meme!

  3. Cathy - The Physician's Tale sounds really interesting! I'd love to hear if it lives up to your expectations based on the first two books.
