Tuesday Thingers: Recently Added

This week's question from the Boston Bibliophile: LibraryThing's Recently Added feature: do you look at it? Do you use it for ideas? Is there something listed there now that looks interesting to you? What have you added to your LT library recently?

I have to admit that I really don't pay that much attention to this feature. I subscribe to the daily digest and wish list emails from Paperback Swap, and lately that's where I get most of my ideas for future additions to my library. I do pay attention to my personal Recently Added's because I've found that once in a while the covers I added have disappeared, so I know I need to do a little surgery. (Anyone have a fresh tube of Super Glue?) One thing that I do pay attention to which is somewhat similar is the Tag Watch feature. I suppose you could say that it's a more categorized version of Recently Added. I have found books I want to add to my library through that feature.

As far as books I've recently added to my LibraryThing library, I participate in a weekly meme called Mailbox Monday in which we list all the books we've received the previous week.
All you have to do is read my post here to find out my recent additions!

  1. I really need to make a note of where I've heard of a particular book (even if it's not yet *mine*), to give 'credit' for the referral in my weekly posts (I do Friday Finds, similar to Mailbox Monday)

  2. I'm going to have to make a point to keep on doing that. I read a review of a book on another blog and wound up getting (and reading) the book within a week, so I remembered who recommended it. I mentioned the referral in my review and emailed the person about it. I made her day. I can understand that--it would make my day, too.

  3. I have not really looked at the Tag Watch feature, I'll have to check that one out.
