Scene of the Blog Featuring Peggy of Peggy Ann's Post!

It's true that birds of a feather are often found flocking together, and this week's featured book blogger happens to share a love of crime fiction with me.

Peggy Ann's Post is Peggy's blog where she shares her love of books-- especially vintage mysteries-- participates in a meme or two, and shares other things in her life, such as being the recipient of a handmade quilt from her 86-year-old friend. (What a wonderful gift!)

If you haven't visited Peggy Ann's Post, I hope you take this opportunity to do so. Please say hello while you're there! Also... if you'd like to see any of the following photos in a larger size, all you have to do is click on them. I think Peggy's ready to take us on a tour, so let's get started!

Peggy's favorite reading spot
This is my red couch where I love to curl up with a book! Must be something to that 'red hat' business when you get old-- I just got it in my head I had to have a red couch one day, and here it is! The IKEA chair was a great find at Goodwill and is another very comfortable place to read. It really doesn't fit the decor, and when both sons came home they said, "What's with the chair?" but I love it, so it stays!

An older bookcase in the living room

My sweet husband got me a second bookshelf for Christmas, and I immediately filled it up! As you can see in the photo below, the shelves are double stacked. And then I also have the old wooden shelf in the living room that you can see here to the right.

Click on the photo if you're in the mood to read spines!

Peggy's blogging spot
We have a small house and are so short on space! I am crammed into the corner in the dining room. It's a little rough on the neck with the monitor to the side this way but it will have to do for now. I like it out in the heart of the home.

You may feel that you're short of space, Peggy, but you've maximized the space  you do have without making it feel cramped. Good job! I like the artwork above your desk, and the pops of red-- such as your couch and the cloth on the dining room table-- make your home feel cheery and welcoming. Thank you so much for sharing your creative spaces with us!

Don't forget to stop by next Wednesday when I'll be featuring the creative spaces of another book blogger in our worldwide community!

  1. Thanks for sharing, Peggy. I used to have my screen to the right too, though not as far away, and I finally had to put it in front of me because my neck hurt too much. Love the red.

  2. From the look of your shelves, you've led a rich life. There are a couple of books I'd like to pick up and curl up with right now!

  4. We are very familar with that double-stacking trick around here, lol.
Love the red couch, and that IKEA chair looks very interesting -- comfort should win out every time when it comes to reading spots.

  7. Hi Cathy great post and Hi Peggy thanks for sharing your home with us all.

Double stacking is a fact of life on every bookshelf we have in our house.

In fact we recently bought another couple of units for my office and what a surprise ... when they arrived they were so lovely and deep, that I could triple stack!!!

    Seventh heaven to a bookaholic
