Scene of the Blog Featuring Debbie of Readerbuzz!

The subtitle of the blog header for this week's featured blog states "¡Me gusta leer!" It only takes a single glance to know that this means the owner of Readerbuzz dearly loves to read.

Debbie's entire blog is a joyful statement of her passion for books. I could go on to tell you more about this exceptional blogger, but I'll let her words and photos do that.

What I would like to say is that Debbie is in need of our TLC right now. Within the past few days, Debbie's mother lost her long battle with cancer, so I know you'll all understand why she won't be around to respond to our comments. What I would like all of us to do is to leave a comment here on this post and to visit Readerbuzz to leave a comment to let her know that our thoughts are with her and her family.

As always, remember that you can click on each photo to view it in a larger size. Now, let's take a look at Debbie's creative space!

The Meditation Room

Welcome to my Meditation Room!

I never had a room of my own. Growing up, I shared a room with my sister. Later, I married and had two boys. No extra room for me in our little cottage.

Finally, my sons grew up and moved out and I claimed the smallest room, a little 10’x10’x13’ triangle that I shaped into my own little reading room. Because I have a relaxation fountain and scented candles and quiet music in this room, my sons immediately dubbed it my Meditation Room.

The room is tiny so I had to find an equally tiny desk. I love my little desk/bookcase, that easily folds up to save on space.
Debbie's daybed
My favorite place to read and blog is on my daybed in my Meditation Room.

Debbie's PEDs
I have plenty of portable electronic devices! Three laptops (one pink), a Kindle, an iPad, and an iPhone.

Bulletin board

My bulletin board serves as a spot to keep my extra Queen of the Library crowns in the summer. (Yes, that’s me in the middle, my school picture this year.)

One of Debbie's puppets

The daybed makes a nice spot to store all the puppets I keep with me. (I can’t seem to be without a puppet.)

Shegecko

I have to share my favorite creature on earth, my beautiful cockatiel, Shegecko. He usually is at my school library, but he summers at my house.

I love how you've turned a little corner of your home into a retreat and a creative space for your books and blogging, Debbie. Thank you so much for sharing your creative spaces with us-- and please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this very difficult time.

Please stop by next week when I'll be featuring yet another book blogger from our worldwide community.

I'm so sorry about your mother, Debbie. We'll all be thinking of you in these difficult days.

  5. There is a benefit to having a small reading room... it's that no one can comfortably join you there! Ha!

I hole up in my room but each kid finds me and even the dog!

Thanks for sharing your space with us.

  13. Shegecko is so beautiful. I would love to have a bird like that. I’m planning on buying one but I don’t think my dog would love the idea.

    Thanks,
