Scene of the Blog Featuring Jillian of Random Ramblings!

If you haven't visited Random Ramblings, you're in for a treat. Jillian is an enthusiastic book blogger who talks about the books she loves. She reviews them, has contests and giveaways, and (one of my favorites) talks about the things that inspire her.

Please take the opportunity to stop by Random Ramblings and say hi to Jillian. You'll be glad you did!

Where does Jillian work her creative book blogging magic? Let's take a look! (Don't forget that you can click on each photo to view it full size.)

My favorite place to blog is my room. I have been known to use a chair, but usually, I simply sit on my bed right where the pillow is, and my laptop is on the table. For me, it's the most comfortable place -- and position -- in the house. Sometime soon, I'd like to also put white Christmas lights on my headboard, as it will make my room look different with such pretty lighting!

And a little tidbit; the wall frame is one of my favorite pieces in my room. A friend of mine gave this to me as a Christmas gift. On the frame, he drew a typewriter, used pink letters to make the keys, and wrote a copy of Pablo Neruda's Sonnet 17-- my most favorite poem-- on the paper "coming out" from the typewriter. On the sides, top, and bottom, are some of my favorite quotes from some of my favorite books. This wall frame truly inspires me every time I see it as it sums up who I am as a reader and a writer as well.

This is another place in the house where I blog, where the window lets in a bit of light. I'm usually here during the day, on the burgundy couch to the left. I would either sit, or lay down and have my laptop on my lap. At night though, the television is almost always on in the family room, and I have to admit I don't have a problem with music playing in the background while I write/read, but when the TV is on, I do get a bit distracted.

This is my mom's favorite reading nook. I don't read here often, but when I do, I tend to stay there for hours! It's such a comfortable (and quirky-looking) couch, and the reading lamp is just perfect.. It's also a good change of "scenery" after having spent most of my time in my room.

Jillian and I share a love of Pablo Neruda's poetry, I see. That is a wonderful piece of wall art (and gift). I also have to admit that even though that adorable bundle of white fur is named Kobe (after Kobe Bryant of the LA Lakers), it was great to see his asleep and awake photos. Why do I have "a thing" about the dog's name? The Lakers and my beloved Phoenix Suns are facing each other in the NBA Western Conference Championship!

Jillian has some comfy and cozy places to read and be creative, and I'm very glad she shared them with us. Thank you so much, Jillian!

Don't forget to stop by next week to see who will be featured on Scene of the Blog!

  6. @Kara: Thank you so much! It is definitely something I know I will treasure always.

@Rural View: The gift is definitely meaningful to me. It seems like my friend really worked hard at it! And I actually have been wanting a dog for about.. hmm.. 19 years, haha. Finally, we got one that was hypoallergenic.

@Elisabeth: He's a 1yr and 6month Maltese. Only 6lbs, so even though he's no longer a pup, he's still truly a baby to us! And thank you, I am sure he will appreciate your compliment :D Saw your profile picture too -- such a cute dog! What breed?

@Ruth: Oh don't worry! Believe me, there are definitely times that I let my blogging space go and it just looks like a total disaster!

@Kay: Thank you! It is usually very tidy like this -- It's so hard to work when the place is a mess.. but there are definitely times when I let it go and it becomes a disaster. I hate it when that happens. Haha.
