The Code Talkers were instrumental in defeating the Japanese during World War II. The vast majority of Code Talkers were young Navajo soldiers speaking their own language. The Japanese could never break the "code". <br /><br />The sandstone arch known as Window Rock is sacred ground to the Navajo. Having a statue of the Code Talkers in such close proximity to the arch shows how esteemed these men are.
