The "Mrs. Parker" who lived a couple of doors down from my grandparents would get in her car and drive around town looking for houses that didn't have phone wires going to them because she knew those women wouldn't have the latest gossip. *sigh*Cathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01774383554326288663noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1999659125625323494.post-46943441553673217352013-08-08T07:52:43.065-07:002013-08-08T07:52:43.065-07:00This sounds good; anything set in Inverness is app...This sounds good; anything set in Inverness is appealing to me but this sounds particularly intriguing. As a teenager I lived across the street from a "nosy parker" (love that expression) who also happened to be a sort-of friend of my grandmother's. She gave me fits.Barbarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04179027379034179865noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1999659125625323494.post-70607943451743667432013-08-07T00:12:36.911-07:002013-08-07T00:12:36.911-07:00Yes, everybody knows everyone else's business,...Yes, everybody knows everyone else's business, but if someone is determined, secrets can still be kept. Since she lived only a couple of blocks from me, I really wasn't going all that far out of my way. When I walked in the door at home, Mom already knew that I'd taken a different route home. Someone whom I'd thought was a good friend had telephoned Mom and tattled on me. I didn't get in trouble; Mom just used it as an example of what people could be like-- especially people you thought you knew.Cathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01774383554326288663noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1999659125625323494.post-86848738511185802582013-08-06T04:44:33.371-07:002013-08-06T04:44:33.371-07:00Cathy - There is something about a small town isn&...Cathy - There is something about a small town isn't there? It's really true that everybody knows everyone else's business. And I love the particular setting of this town. Glad you enjoyed this latest even if there were little 'patches' in it...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1999659125625323494.post-10483777162171108962013-08-06T02:21:17.967-07:002013-08-06T02:21:17.967-07:00I have one of this author's books and have bee...I have one of this author's books and have been wanting to read her for some time. This sounds good!

I know what you mean about small towns. Mine wasn't even that small but if I was anywhere near anywhere I shouldn't be you can bet my mum would hear about it before I got home! She worked at the only shoe store in town.Nikki in Niagarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13348586723780500367noreply@blogger.com
