I totally agree with you about Cupidi. I think the only reason why Zoe didn't annoy me more than she did is that I could see myself behaving like that if I had a mother like hers.Cathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01774383554326288663noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1999659125625323494.post-69766163366629970412018-08-15T22:38:21.817-07:002018-08-15T22:38:21.817-07:00Addendum: I asked Sarah Ward about William South&#...Addendum: I asked Sarah Ward about William South's possible return. I read that book, which is an excellent psychological suspense thriller -- much better than the "Girl" books, despite this one being about a "Woman."

I guess I would be birdwatcher/cop William South in southeast England, attempting to find out who my dead neighbor was and who killed someone from my childhood. (I've never been a male character before, but I didn't want to be the woman cop here.)
I am calm and rational and am logically trying to answer these mysteries. I like living alone (amen!), but I'd need a TV, Internet and apartment neighbors (that's me).

I love hiking and birdwatching and now I'm taking another cop's daughter, Zoe, with me. Although rather annoying and impertinent, she is enjoying the outdoors and the birds. I have a childhood secret, which I fear will come out. And I'm reliving my childhood traumas as this investigation unfolds. I'm still in the middle of it, so don't know how it will be resolved.

Well, I couldn't be Alex Cupidi, could I? She's even more irritating than her teen-age daughter.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1999659125625323494.post-52759518491551405552018-08-08T16:20:10.306-07:002018-08-08T16:20:10.306-07:00Oh, of course! I don't want to put down the book I'm enjoying it so much, but I wouldn't want to be Anna. She swills wine 24/7 and mixes it with a large cocktail of strong drugs she's been warned not to take with alcohol. Two things I do not do well: alcohol and drugs!Cathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01774383554326288663noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1999659125625323494.post-6901651922553490222018-08-08T13:41:37.619-07:002018-08-08T13:41:37.619-07:00Now if I only knew the title of the book! Now if I only knew the title of the book!Cathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01774383554326288663noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1999659125625323494.post-30768113937610460272018-08-08T06:56:35.725-07:002018-08-08T06:56:35.725-07:00I just finished Emma in the Night by Wendy Walker....I just finished Emma in the Night by Wendy Walker. This is a tale of two missing teenage sisters and how one of them returns three years later. The FBI forensic psychiatrist that was involved in the beginning also returns. Her name is Dr. Abby Winter and that would the character I'd be. Abby has some issues in her past, but she also is an expert on narcissistic personality disorder. That's all I'll say. I thought some of the info about Abby and her specialty was fascinating. The reviews on the book were mixed though.

Cathy, this is fun and I enjoyed hearing about your 3 personas.Kayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13495669354860191042noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1999659125625323494.post-58951591803237499792018-08-08T04:46:05.486-07:002018-08-08T04:46:05.486-07:00Oh, I do like the Siri Paiboun books, Cathy. Everything's going well until one of my guests ends up at the bottom of the stairs. And another is found dead in her room. Not an auspicious tourist season...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
