Normally when I'm that disgusted with a character, I won't keep on reading the book, but-- like I said-- Hesketh works some magic. :-)Cathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01774383554326288663noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1999659125625323494.post-10576134002276119162013-03-07T10:39:32.587-07:002013-03-07T10:39:32.587-07:00You're welcome, Elizabeth! You're welcome, Elizabeth!Cathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01774383554326288663noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1999659125625323494.post-31398440136156736922013-03-07T10:39:12.526-07:002013-03-07T10:39:12.526-07:00I enjoyed most of them, but when you're caught...I enjoyed most of them, but when you're caught up in the story and want to know what happens next, they can be a bit of a drag. Yes, I could've given them a miss and gone straight to the action, but for some reason I always had the feeling that I might miss something important if I did.Cathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01774383554326288663noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1999659125625323494.post-70017448732676016722013-03-07T10:37:07.679-07:002013-03-07T10:37:07.679-07:00It's certainly not easy to do, but-- as far as...It's certainly not easy to do, but-- as far as I'm concerned-- Hesketh pulls it off.Cathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01774383554326288663noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1999659125625323494.post-3803287090289355882013-03-07T08:24:44.572-07:002013-03-07T08:24:44.572-07:00Royal jelly, eh? Very clever, Cathy. :) The fact that you couldn't abide Albert and yet enjoyed the book reminds me of a book I read and reviewed recently, WHITE SHANGHAI. I'm intrigued by this review, enough so to read the book if I can whittle down my TBR stack a little.Barbarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04179027379034179865noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1999659125625323494.post-90822368328702904402013-03-07T07:17:10.138-07:002013-03-07T07:17:10.138-07:00Nice review. I give credit to Hesketh for creating an innovative character and way of telling the story. That's not easy to do. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
