She has never sustained a long-term relationship, except with her dogs, neighbor Mr. Contreras and friend and mentor, Dr. Lotty Herschel.

So, Irene Huss is a stable exception to the usual situation for women detectives. The library has this book, so I'll be reading it soon.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1999659125625323494.post-18723695418892728932017-11-29T11:02:17.932-07:002017-11-29T11:02:17.932-07:00Someone on Facebook was bemoaning the fact that ev...Someone on Facebook was bemoaning the fact that every fictional detective seemed to have some sort of warped background and/or wasn't happy. (sign, moan)

Irene Huss is a great character, a smart detective who is physically fit -- and has a family. Few women detectives have "normal" home lives; most are single.

Yet Irene Huss has managed all of it well. She's even a dog lover.

I must get this book asap. And I will read news about Helene Tursten to see if she is writing a new series.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1999659125625323494.post-31403391429448303392017-11-28T08:18:52.150-07:002017-11-28T08:18:52.150-07:00You do!You do!Cathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01774383554326288663noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1999659125625323494.post-28425064616202251562017-11-28T04:51:53.780-07:002017-11-28T04:51:53.780-07:00So glad you liked this one, Cathy.
