"Unbrok...Very good to see the glowing review. "Unbroken" is still on the NY Times best-seller list, still going strong. "Seabiscuit" was also on that list for a record number of weeks. I
haven't read either book, but saw the film of "Seabiscuit," and it was quite good, not only about the horse, but about the impact of the Great Depression on people's lives.

Zamperini wrote a memoir, too, but said that Laura Hillenbrand did a better job writing his memoir than he did. She interviewed him by phone many times and they became good friends. She must have been quite sad when he passed away recently.

And, another amazing thing about Hillenbrand is that she wrote and rewrote and tweaked both books while suffering from a debilitating illness and being completely homebound.

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1999659125625323494.post-38053034089403171052014-08-06T19:37:32.797-07:002014-08-06T19:37:32.797-07:00A new one for me so thanks for the review and upda...A new one for me so thanks for the review and update.Mysticahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10941269615559681014noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1999659125625323494.post-82634366973667465462014-08-06T13:38:07.571-07:002014-08-06T13:38:07.571-07:00He is, and one of the sadder parts of the book is ...He is, and one of the sadder parts of the book is the pilot of the bomber-- and Louie's friend-- who endured the same hell Louie did, but became a mere footnote in Zamperini's life.
